STEWART FAMILY FOUNDATION INTERN TO THE RYAN MIRE, M.D., MACP, SUMMER INTERNSHIP WITH THE AMERICAN COLLEGE OF PHYSICIANS

The Ryan Mire, MD Summer Internship Program is named in honor of the American College of Physicians’ 2022-2023 President, Dr. Ryan Mire, Dr. Ryan Mire, who served as the organization’s fourth Black president. Through his leadership, Dr. Mire exemplifies ACP’s dedication to fostering diversity within the field of internal medicine.

Launched in the summer of 2022, the Ryan Mire, MD Summer Internship Program was designed with a dual purpose in mind. First, we aim to diversify the healthcare workforce by opening doors for underrepresented communities. Second, we strive to inspire college students by educating them about the wide array of fulfilling and impactful careers available in healthcare.

The Dr. Earl Stewart, Jr., Family Foundation partners with Mercer University’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (ACP) and ACP to provide a major gift with Mercer University to ACP to name a deserving matriculant in the CLAS from a URIM and BIPOC group with prospects of entering the health professions for this amazing opportunity beginning in 2024 to aid in diversification of the health profession to create and achieve greater health equity.
